Don't know about the 3D shapes library for SVG (although you might find some good sources in the good old C/C++ sections of a bookstore, look under gaming programming)...
Places for other SVG stuff:
http://www.w3c.org/
http://www.kevlindev.com/
http://www.adobe.com/SVG/
http://www.apache.org (Batik toolkit, Java-based)
http://www.carto.net (GIS / Mapping in SVG)
There are others around, but I don't know of any that's done some hardcore 3d stuff in SVG. Although some of the others might....

Also, a good intro tutorial at http://dhtmlnirvana.com/svg/ by Eddie Traversa.

I can't see it, gives me a HTTP 302 error (or something like that)--says has to be linked to from your site only....

Yeah, Brinkster is gay like that, you have to embed it in a HTML file. I would really like to see that clock though. Later
