Bratta, do you know how with the old bratta forums, it used to be that when you reloaded the main forums page, all the "new posts" notifications were updated?
That doesn't seem to happen with this forum... so it looks like there are always new messages... even when I'm sure I've read them already, they still show up as new messages. So I have to go into the threads to see if there's really something I haven't read yet.... is there something wrong with the timing in my cookie that is causing this?
Let me know what's up :)
Yeah, it seems that way to me too Ice, sometimes it is correct about the unread messages, and sometimes it is way off.
I like the profiles for this forum....check out my profile, I put up a pic.

Heh... I think mine's quite freaky, its actually me though!
I've got that problem too, its something todo with the Cookies and Session data, if you log off and log back on it is fine.

No, thats not it. No... oh my god, you guys are embarrassed for all of us... Now I think I got stuck with bunch of stupids... god, save me...
just kidding, don't kill me.. I am with stupid too.
Anyway, yup you guys are right, you know why...
The last forum... it used cookies... [um... cookies... almost reminds me of donuts... ummmmmmmmmmm... donuts.... ummmmmmmmmmmm (mocking homer)]
It used cookies to save it on the computer that the time you visited and your next session you will be able to see the new pages and if you reload the main page, it will appear all messages as read.
Snitz forum is kind tricky and advance... what it does is... saves a session log file for every user in the database instead of just browser-cookies... this is very useful for a multi-pc user (which is me sometimes), anywhere you go... whenever you log in, you will see the actives topics since your last visit.
The bad part is... it won't relog until your log-in session expires... figure that.
I guess thats all I have for explanation...
Take care guys,
Later.

Btw: What about that little "purple/yellow" folder icon saying "mark all topics as read", is that usefull?
I click that when I am sure that I have read everything, that way when I come the next time I am sure to get new posts.
Seems to work..

I'll push this Post button and that's when I'll notice the 200 X 400 blinking graphic dead center on the screen, but just in case... would someone point me to the yellow/purple folder? I can't find it.

Hey DC, it's good to see you again :)
And no I can't find that purple/yellow button either... it must be a secret button :-)
A Big HELLO to you too, Ice! I'm finally on free phone time and wouldn't you know it, I can't keep my eyes open... zzzzzzzzzz... ack, gonna go pour some hot coffee down my shorts. Let me know if you trip over that button.
Top left corner of the entire forum table. (yellow background), in the column left of the header "TOPIC".
Oh..yea, and in the page "Active topics".

Hmmm...Yeah, I still can't seem to find that folder/button.
I did, howvere, click on the folder to the left of the forum title ( says " new topics " in the alt tag), but it brought up all three pages of the coolmenu forum.
ShAnE
did anybody have any luck w/ the purple/yellow folder icon thomas' mentioned?
