Please help me out reg the following problem.
I have to develop a report which has constant headers which contains some static text and some dynamic text like the customer name customer id which come from Database. And the footer which contains the date printed and no of pages printed like page 1 of 4 etc.
And i want to have control over the printing the page. The each section of the document has to start from the next page irrespictive of the space availabel in the previous page.

Hi,
What kind of information you want.
And can u explain the system variable what you are talking about.
Actually we are planing to generate the reports using JSP. Any way JSP is java code placed in HTML. so as of my knowledge there is no page header (not H1- H6) or page footer facility which will be added when html file is generated and while printing. In MS Access, when we design the reports there is separate section called page header and page footer. What ever we are specifying in these sections, will he added to each page of report which are generated.
I wanted to know is there is any way we can have page header and page footer.
If not possible with HTML is ther is any other tools that are available..like PDF creater etc..to do this..
Thanks for ur reply..
expecting ur reply.
Thanks

I am a reports GURU, specializing in Crystal Reports and have used Access reporting as well as other database reporting (Click Drag & Drill, Paradox, FoxPro, etc). If you could get Crystal Reports Professional you could do this easily with their Web Reporting feture.
If you are trying to create HTML reports (ugh) you need to use include files which is a whole new subject. Are you using a Unix/Linux machine or some type of Windows platform for your web hosting? It makes a difference which is why I ask but in the meantime, if your budget permits purchasing this, check out Crystal Reports at http://www.crystaldecisions.com
