View Full Version : Form is Function?
I will be writing a paper this semester about web designing and usability. Can you give me your thoughts about this concept? If your site is easy to use, then it will also have a very good design. (Almost every aspect of good design has a function, right? Colors have a function, logos identify the site, everything that doesn't help to support the site is just clutter that hurts the design, right?)

That is pretty general. But, I will disagree just to give you some thinking points.
Alot of webdesign is interface, and now more than in the past in my opinion. Alot of sites are meant for business, not design, but they still need design.
The one thing I really tend to focus on in the layout of any of my artwork is composition. It doesn't matter what you put in the page, if the composition is good, and the eye can flow around the page like it is supposed to, without getting tripped up on images, then the design will work. ( obviously you can't make things impossible to see or read, we will not take the obvious for granted here.)
Anyway, does that spark any conversation or ideas?
