Regarding the diagram, more colours would make it more readable, before you do start anything you should have a completed diagram, plans on how to get there and a timesheet.
Other than that if you follow everything you put down on paper you should have little problems. Looks good up to now. Bon Bon |

dancedevils, although I appreciate your intentions, i don't need feedback on the ashetics of my diagrams.
I've already written 90% of it, so I don't need much of a timeline. I'm just looking for some retrospective advice on the implementation of content, as I'm going back through my code and tweaking it. Thanks anywho, -Rob http://www.abstractia.com |

As an aside, since I've finished writing the non XML/DB components, does anyone know of a decent XML editing ASP.NET component that doesn't cost a fortune? I'm thinking I'm gonna have to write one myself, but it would save my ass so much if I didn't have to.
Any further comments on the system you can deduce from the diagram are welcome. Again, I appologize about the diagram, I suck at flowcharts .-Rob http://www.abstractia.com |

You ain't wrong there! A flow chart is supposed to paint a picture. You seem to be conveying rather too much workflow there. Abstract it more. <blockquote id="quote"><span class="smalltext" id="quote">quote:<hr id="quote">decent XML editing ASP.NET component <hr id="quote"></blockquote id="quote"></span id="quote"> You need a browser component to edit an XML structure? -- Regards, Tim Scarfe <tim@developer-x.com> http://www.developer-x.com |

for the user to be able to manage newsfeeds and such w/o editing the XML itself. Something that can parse it out into a tree directory then edit individual items.

Shouldn't be that involved. I did something similar with XLoadTree and webservices.htc but I had to make the interface communication chunky rather than chatty (i.e. cache) because w.s.htc is slower than George Bush. -- Regards, Tim Scarfe <tim@developer-x.com> http://www.developer-x.com |

No no, Bush has a great new [url="http://www.whitehouse.org/initiatives/purity/advice.asp"]plan[/url:k3hw0dq9ix].
"To become a beast, you must dig deep down to find your Animal. Find lust and desire; find hunger; find the deep Hatred for your fellow man, and all the wrong he has done you. Become this. The transformation will be inevitable." |

The scary thing is that I wouldn't put it past him. He has invaded other nations costing thousands of innocent lives for no reason, just imagine what else he would do.
Let's not get bogged down with politics here though. -- Regards, Tim Scarfe <tim@developer-x.com> http://www.developer-x.com |
